The Disciplines of a Disciple – Honesty

Dishonesty, has its roots in fear.  Fear that comes from a feeling that God is not all that He says He is … and that we are not all that He says we are.  Fear that God is not enough.  Fear that God won’t provide, or protect, just as He has promised.  Fear that we are not enough … just as God has created us.  Fear that we will not find or have love.  And that fear manifests itself in dishonesty in so many areas of our lives – our self-esteem … our work and careers … our relationships … and yes, even … in our relationship with God Himself.  But God’s perfect love casts out all fear and paves the way for living an honest life in every way.
